Frits Spieksma was recently elected President Elect of EURO – the Association of European Operational Research Societies. It is a regional grouping within IFORS, the International Federation of Operational Research Societies. EURO is a non profit association domiciled in Switzerland, and was founded in the year 1976. The Netherlands played a vital role in setting up the society and became one of its first members.
